FAQs

Q: When I am on a temporary assignment, when are timecards due?
A: Signed timecards are to be faxed into our office no later than 9:30 a.m.every Monday.   Many employees find it convenient to fax timecards at the close of the workweek.   If you are unable to obtain your supervisor’s signature, please call us no later than 9:30 a.m. Monday.   Although paychecks are issued biweekly, we perform in-house processing every week.
Q: If I fax my timecard do I need to send in my hardcopy?
A: Yes, we always need the original (white copy) timecard.   However, you may wait until you have several and send them in together.
Q: Am I entitled to overtime on temporary assignments?
A: Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, contract employees are compensated on an hourly basis.   As hourly employees, they are entitled to be paid time and a half for any hours over 40 worked in a one week period.
Q: Why must I record lunch on my timecard? I never take it!
A: By Washington State law, all hourly workers are entitled to a 30 minute meal period when you work five or more hours a day.   For auditing purposes, we require that you record a mealtime on your timecard daily.
Q: What if I have worked an assignment through Cobos Group and the client company wants to hire me, or later they call me to come back in any capacity?
A: Our clients sign a contract directly with Cobos Group agreeing that for a period of 12 months from the commencement of the original assignment they will not directly hire or contract with a Cobos Group professional who has worked with them.   If a client contacts you or expresses a desire to hire you, you must notify Cobos Group so appropriate arrangements can be made.   If you fail to follow this procedure you, along with the client, would be in violation of our contract.
